If anyone visited Open Studios (thank you)and was drawn to a particular artwork that is not featured here, please contact studio@artshane.uk and describe the work – it can be added to the website or discuss without any obligation.
There's always new work when I'm fit and able to produce the dexterous work my rheumatoid arthritis allows. Sometimes it takes a while to add to the website :-)
Alternatively, let me know and I can bring it to one of these listed events, and you can have another look.

My subject matter are the ghosts of creatives who walked before us: the anonymous hands that created round tower churches and the craftspeople who carved wood, shaped flint, and laid stone. I am interested in the makers rather than the monuments, the labour behind the form rather than the authority that claims it.
I look to the workers who built the stately home or shaped the landscape, not the owner, but the intelligence embedded in the act of making. I look to the solitary eccentric who nails together a beach hut, insisting on individuality through improvisation. These are my subjects. These are my people.
It is the imagination that takes power, not the powerful.

artShane's work
Mixed Media Collage
The artworks are created using mixed media – a self-styled ‘heat-press collage’ technique. Involving photographs, ink work, drawing, digital imaging and a final hands-on collage in sections onto the artist's canvas that makes each original unique.
This process has evolved over 30 years from making light-sensitive silver emulsion on watercolour paper, where photographs were printed and painted over, to the technique used today.
Ultimately, the work is created as art – not a technical admiration image – and the humanity of creativity is evident.
Hopefully, the final image is enjoyed for the pleasure it brings – the process is merely a road travelled to reach the final vision.
Shane.
