A collection of tapes
Between 1988 and 2005 while travelling to gigs or working at them - if I found a cassette tape sprawled out discarded on the side of the road - I’d use the tape as a stencil and create a middle of the road artwork.
The band or festival I was going to didn’t matter; the music on the tape didn’t matter.
I just left a small semi-permanent stencilled artwork in the ‘middle of the road’
I did this 23 times - then ended the project.
These artworks are a creative reinterpretation of that idea, limited to 13 individual works, one unique print of each. Created in 2024
This is the original inspiration - but they have been signed with simplified titles because frankly - no-one but me would care about what band I was travelling to that inspired them :-)
